First of all, this is REALLY impressive puppet rigging for an indie series. The sense of action and scale is really cool. I also think you have a wonderful narrative style that drops us right in and gets to the good stuff fast. Voice acting is also pretty great for a smaller project.

My only qualm is that I think the character design is a bit basic and while that's clearly used to your advantage with how you're able to move the characters, I feel like refining it and adding some smaller details could help a lot.

Excited to see where you go next!

TheApoke responds:

Thanks for the constructive criticism! I'll try to improve the designs going forward. I already have a second episode you can check out, and a kickstarter to fund the third episode! Please consider donating or sharing with a friend so we can get the third episode made! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/apoke/manware

Hey, I just wanna say that your vibes are immaculate and the composition of each frame are awesome. If you ever advice on finding voices and pushing forward with expanding this, please lemme know!

ScarletSentinel responds:

Thank you so much for the offer and kind words! Might hit you up at some point :)

This week...on a very special Broats...

BroatsShorts responds:

Lol, I remember those days of television. There would be a "very special" episode promising some dramatic, tear jerking development, and by the end of the episode everything had reset to the status quo and nothing that happened even mattered, because every episode had to be able to exist as a re-run in any order for all of time.

I was there on the day of the Boba Barge incident...I'm still getting therapy.

I plark where I WANNA plark!

Shrenk brings me back...

BroatsShorts responds:

Shrenk - great movie franchise, inspiring the great Shrenk's Forntress game series

Yesss! So good. Welcome to NG!

BroatsShorts responds:

Thanks for encouraging me to try it out!

This is super ambitious for Newgrounds and I think it mostly comes together in the end! I love the school setting and slice of life vibe. You've created a fully fleshed out world and really filled it out with some fun characters. Not only that, but the amount of animation variety is really impressive. I only have two critiques.

1. The writing, while providing some hilarious gags, felt a bit repetitive. The intro sequence provides everything we need to know and I still kind of felt like we were being reminded of the main motivating factor of why Marcus is trying to stay popular here and there. I feel like editing some of the fat out early on would help a lot.
2. The voice acting is all great, but the mic quality varies a bunch. I'd just work on making sure the consistency is a bit more solid.

Hillasir responds:

Aw thanks! We hear your feedback. We've worked out the bugs with our mic problems and it'll be razor sharp next time we promise 😎

Dude, I saw Beautiful Day at LAAF the other day and it was so cool experiencing it on a big screen. Great work with this one, as usual.

MaxJohnsonINK responds:

that's awesome thanks for watching! lots of great stuff played there

Short and sweet, but masterfully animated. I love the dreamlike flow of this. The POV shot transition to Senia going into the ramp was excellently done.

aggimajera responds:

I had a deadline and hard to keep it short so it would be consistent. I think it worked out for the best that way :D
