As someone who's worked in a record store, I can safely say this is 100% accurate. It's kind of sad that this is the "last day" at this store, but I do hope you do more with these characters in the future.

The quick chomp is what sells it. This deserves more love!

THEY MUST HAVE AMNESIA

THEY FORGOT THAT I'M HIM

First of all, whatever VHS effect you used is immaculate, I'd love to know what it was for future reference. Not only did you capture the look of those old anime tapes, but you completely nailed the tone of the studio logos and intros. Really amazing stuff. I think my only qualm was the feathering on the computer was a bit rough. I think you were going for a warm glow, but it looks more like the image is blending into the monitor itself. I think of you were able to touch that up, that would make the experience more immersive. Otherwise, this is a really cute short!

The Scott at the end is a bit unnerving. I legitimately think another pass on him could do wonders, unless that's what you were going for. Otherwise this goes HARD. The section with the 2D Kim panels is probably some of the best use of colors I've seen in a while.

The "SALEM" namedrop is one of Richard's best improv moments.

Massive Liquid Television vibes here. Wonderful, simple short. Love all the dynamic camera shots you were able to squeeze in for something that was under a minute long.

I think it's so hard to capture believable dialog, but there's moments in here that sound like they're legitimately from a real conversation that you recorded. I'm a big fan of people kind of just wandering around a city late at night. There's never enough of that kind of content. I'd love to see this expanded into a series or comic. Keep up the amazing work. This definitely deserves more love.

Thanks, that means a lot (:
I'm more of an artist than a writer for sure, so I manage a lot better at writing a plot and dialogue that don't do much heavy lifting on their own but serve to add to the artistic, romanticized moments that feel more immersive and real, and carry the 'vibe' across. So I'm really glad that came across!

This has a LOT of potential. Heroes who are middling at their jobs are always a fun thing to explore. A lot of the gags work here. I'm hoping to get more of a feel for Loriner and Jessie's dynamic a bit more in the next episode. I get that Lornier is kind of the wacky one, while Jessie is grounded, but I feel like they switched on and off depending on the gags. Not that you CAN'T do that, but in a five minute short, it kind of distracts from what archetypes you're trying to establish. Other than that, not a whole lot to complain about honestly. Great work!

Love me some Joel! So cool that you got him for this.
